  • Changi Airport ranked 2nd most family-friendly airport globally in Skytrax's 2025 survey, praised for amenities like play areas and childcare facilities.
  • Terminal 5 expansion underway with S$4.75 billion in contracts, set to enhance family-friendly features by the mid-2030s.
  • Consistent industry recognition, including "World’s Best Airport" (2024) and "5th Most Instagrammable Airport," solidifying Changi’s global reputation.

[SINGAPORE] Singapore’s Changi Airport has secured the second spot in a global ranking of the most family-friendly airports, according to a recent survey by British aviation consultancy Skytrax, as reported by VnExpress International.

Istanbul Airport claimed the top position as the World’s Most Family-Friendly Airport for 2025. Rounding out the top five were Seoul Incheon Airport in third place, Tokyo Narita in fourth, and Bahrain International Airport in fifth. Completing the top 10 were Munich (6th), Amsterdam Schiphol (7th), Doha Hamad (8th), Paris Charles de Gaulle (9th), and Rome Fiumicino (10th).

The accolade highlights Changi’s ongoing efforts to cater to families through features such as its interactive Changi Experience Studio and user-friendly stroller rental services. These offerings have made it a favored airport among families with young children, reinforcing its reputation for comfort and convenience.

Skytrax’s rankings are based on passenger evaluations of family-oriented amenities, which include dedicated security lanes for families, streamlined immigration procedures, children's play areas, and baby-care facilities.

Experts in the aviation sector note a growing emphasis on family-friendly infrastructure as post-pandemic travel trends show a rise in passengers flying with children. Enhancing the experience for families not only boosts customer satisfaction but also strengthens airport branding, airline relationships, and tourism appeal.

Changi Airport recently awarded S$4.75 billion in contracts for the construction of its upcoming Terminal 5, part of a major expansion set to be completed by the mid-2030s. The new terminal is expected to feature enhanced facilities for families, including larger play areas, upgraded nursing rooms, and more efficient security processes tailored for travelers with children.

Spanning over one million square metres across four terminals—equivalent to about 156 football fields—Changi continues to earn global recognition. In December, it was named the world’s best airport by the 2024 Airline Ratings Readers’ Choice Awards. It also ranked fifth in a list of the most Instagrammable airports, according to Singapore-based travel site Miss Tourist.

These accolades reflect Changi’s ability to combine operational excellence with visual appeal, setting a high standard in the increasingly competitive landscape of global air travel. Its emphasis on innovation and passenger-centric design continues to position it as a leader in the aviation industry.
