The Humanitarian Crisis

The conflict, now in its 297th day, has claimed the lives of at least 39,324 Palestinians, the majority of whom are women and children, and has left 90,830 others wounded. The dire situation on the ground has prompted international calls for a ceasefire to allow for the delivery of much-needed humanitarian aid and to prevent further loss of life.

Starmer's appeal is particularly poignant given the recent recovery of the bodies of five hostages who were kidnapped during a Hamas-led attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
