[WORLD] Meta Platforms Inc., the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, has recently taken a decisive step by banning accounts that track the private jet travel of celebrities and high-profile individuals. This move has sparked a significant debate over privacy, transparency, and the implications for free speech on social media platforms.

The accounts in question were managed by Jack Sweeney, a college student known for his jet-tracking endeavors. Sweeney's accounts tracked the flights of notable figures such as Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, Donald Trump, Kim Kardashian, Jeff Bezos, and others. These accounts utilized publicly available data to provide real-time updates on the locations of private jets.

Meta's decision to ban these accounts follows a similar action by Elon Musk when he acquired Twitter (now X) in 2022.
